چکیده

The economic contribution of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has been well appreciated documented in the literature. On other hand, another domain studies concentrated on discovering key determinants SMEs' growth survival. motivation study is to gauge nexus between financial innovation, technological clean energy, environmental degradation, SME performance Bangladesh for period 1991-2019. implemented Autoregressive Distributed Lagged (ARDL), Nonlinear ARDL, Toda-Yamamoto causality test. Referring output derived with a exposed positive statistically significant link explanatory variables, that is, energy consumption GDP both long-run short-run. At same time, degradation revealed be adversely connected performance. results standard Wald test have established an asymmetric association explained variables short run. In terms directional test, disclosed bidirectional causal effects running SMEs [CEßàSME], foreign direct investment, [FDIßàSME]. Based findings, policy suggestions introduced light future development Bangladesh.

Energy storage deployment and innovation for the clean energy transition

The clean energy transition requires a co-evolution of innovation, investment, and deployment strategies for emerging energy storage technologies. A deeply decarbonized energy system research platform needs materials science advances in battery technology to overcome the intermittency challenges of wind and solar electricity. Simultaneously, policies designed to build market growth and innovati...

Technological Innovation, Financial Fragility and Complex Dynamics

Technological Innovation, Financial Fragility and Complex Dynamics In this paper we suggest a scaling approach to business cycles. We develop a heterogeneous interacting agents (HIAs) model that replicates well known industrial dynamics stylized facts, as the power law distribution of firms’ size and the Laplace distribution of firms’ growth rates. In particular, the power law is a persistent b...

Technological diversification and innovation performance

This paper analyzes the impact of technological diversity on innovation inputs and success using Swiss firm-level panel data. While we do not find any impact of diversity on R&D intensity, we confirm a positive impact of diversity on patent applications as suggested by the literature. However, since patent applications reflect an intermediate innovation input rather than output, we extend the a...

Financial Innovation

Background Bitcoin, a peer-to-peer electronic currency, is a distributed ledger system (Nakamoto 2009). Every transaction is broadcast and verified by all nodes in the network through a particular consensus mechanism (Bonneau et al. 2015; Yermack 2013). Every node collects transactions in a block and the block is associated with a difficult mathematical problem. Solving that problem is called m...

Innovation and the Financial Guillotine

We examine how investors’ tolerance for failure impacts the types of projects they are willing to fund. We show that actions that reduce short term accountability and thus encourage agents to experiment more simultaneously reduce the level of experimentation financial backers are willing to fund. Failure tolerance has an equilibrium price that increases in the level of experimentation. More exp...
